Older statue of a chief, NDENGESE, DR Congo, ca 1950

Beautifully stylized statue of a chief of the Ndengese tribe. The Ndengese belong to the Kuba kingdom. The broken arm was already broken off at the time because the patina shows no difference from the rest. Strong appearance and a patina appropriate to its age. The statue is neatly placed on a stand, which is easy to remove. Rare in its appearance!
