Beautifully carved animal horn, YORUBA, Nigeria, 1960-70

A particularly striking and appealing object, this beautifully crafted animal horn from the Yoruba. It depicts a face. Is probably intended as an altar object. The variety of objects among the Yoruba is very large and the culture is still actively experienced. Beautiful patina and excellent condition! And custom-made stand is included.
