LUBA/SONGYE ancestor figure, DR Congo, ca 1900

Top statue! this Luba/Songye ancestor statue from the Western Luba area. Fantastic appearance and beautiful patina! This statue may have been the top of a staff or sceptre. It is made of hard wood. The face is very strong. The statue is in excellent used condition and is placed on a stand.

Weight: 92 gram
Origin: DR Congo
Dating: ca 1900 (but probably a bit earlier)
Provenance: Ex Mr Dierx, Overijsen, Belgium.
