Intriguing A-typical statue, LOBI, Burkina Faso, 1930-40

Intriguing old statue of the Lobi from Burkina Faso. A typical because it deviates from the images known from the Lobi. They do have a great variety in themselves. Stylistic features include the horseshoe shaped ears and the block feet. A female statue, primitive in shape but made with great care. Abri bean on the back and possibly one day with a leather strap around the neck. Beautiful convincing patina in accordance with use and age. I had the statue neatly placed on a stand.
