Old tribal statue of the LOBI, Burkina Faso, 1st half of the 20th century

Stylistically strong image! this ancestral statue of the Lobi. Hard wooden statue with a beautiful patina. The collector of Lobi statues may recognize the carver. The face is very distinct in design with striking eyes and ears. The posture is proud and powerful. The absence of part of the legs is not disturbing at all. The statue is neatly placed on a custom-made stand that is of course included.
