Old passport mask, LENGOLA, SONGOLA, DR Congo, 1930-40
Overview
Quite rare and old passport mask from the Lengola, Songola tribe from DR Congo. These types of masks were worn by the owner when he went to a meeting. It was then hung on some kind of rack outside the meeting. This is a beautiful specimen with a deep warm patina. I had a professionally custom-made stand made for it. Good condition!
