Very beautiful and very old tribal utensil, this harp from the Ngbaka, dating from between 1850 and 1900. The base is made of wood, partly covered with the skin of a dik-dik (smallest antelope species). A copper plate on the front. A few sticks for tightening the string are newly made and can also be omitted. Especially a beautiful head, very strong! Convincing patina of use and age. I had a custom-made stand made for this beautiful object, which is of course included. An instrument but in its appearance also a statue!

Height from top of string part to bottom: approx. 66 cm
Length of the string section: approx. 47 cm
Total weight: 1519 grams
Origin: DR Congo.
Date: 1850-1900
