Old tribally used altar, DAN, Ivory Coast, mid 20th century

Very powerful, tribal and intensively used object this altar of the Dan from the Ivory Coast in this case. This object has long served as an altar on which all kinds of rituals were performed. Appropriate as well as beautiful patina of use and aging. See the photos for the condition. The slightly greenish cast in some photos is due to the sun. Photos were taken outside.
