Old tribal Mbuya ya mukhetu / Gabuku PENDE, DR Congo, mid 20th century

Old authentic tribal dance mask of the Pende. It has the name Mbuya ya mukhetu / Gabuku. These types of masks exist with little differences in many forms. They depict an existing individual. This mask looks somewhat like a haughty lady given the appearance and facial features. It is beautifully carved and has the style features that a mask like this should have. The mask is placed on a custom made stand that is included. Very nice authentic and old tribal object in good condition!
