Very old knife of a nganga, KUBA, DR Congo, 1st half 20th century
Previously belonged to an equipment set of a nganga (kind of shaman) of the Kuba from the DR Congo. Multi-functional knife, but also used to make an incision in the case of back pain and to lubricate it with a mixture of leaves, herbs and other things that should be used for healing. Had an eg from a movie where a nganga did this with a similar knife. It is not surprising that this led to inflammation more often. Authentic old utensil for which I had a custom made stand made, which is of course included. Obvious traces of use and aging. See the pictures.
