Akusan, BONTOC shell belt, Luzon, Philippines, 2nd half 20th century

Beautiful object, this tribal belt for women of the BONTOC tribe, neighbours of the Ifugao. Big, conic shells, with different beautiful patterns, two rolled-up rings of brass and cotton. Belts like these were exclusively worn by women. A beautiful decorative object!!
