Rare, huge ancestor statue, TIAMBA tribe, Togo, approx. 1950
Huge, heavily eroded statue of TIAMBA tribe from the north of Togo. It concerns an ancestor statue which has experienced a long period of exposure to the elements of nature. Insects have also done their part. The statue is free of bugs by now! Stylistic traits are clearly present, amplifying the unique character of this statue. Brilliant patina, and it as been mounted on a stand. Obtained in situ.
