Old, tribal WOYO mask, D.R. Congo/Angola, 1950-60
Wonderful, well-worn, old, tribal mask of the WOYO tribe from the area around the border of D.R. Congo and Angola. Somewhat nefarious, intriguing mask with an opened, rectangular mouth with teeth. Remnants of red-brown pigmentation around the mouth are visible. Fantastic, varying use and aging patina, as is visible in the photos. Overall it is in good condition.
