Old, special statue, BAULE tribe, Ivory Coast, mid-20th century
A remarkable appearance, this special and old, slender statue of the BAULE tribe from Ivory Coast. Serene, modest ancestor statue with a fine styling. Long, slender, neck, hands and arms tightly along the body, relatively short lower body, block-shaped scarifications on the belly and back and great character, mostly caused by its deep, warm-brown patina, which arose by use and aging. The statue can stand by itself and it is in good condition overall.
