Old fertility statue, LUBA tribe, D.R. Congo, mid-20th century
Old, superbly sculpted fertility statue of the LUBA tribe in the D.R. Congo. A piece of the bottom is missing due to termites, as you can see on the photos. The object is free of bugs. Beautiful face, powerful yet modest. The statue is neatly mounted on a stand that can be lifted off easily. Warm, brown tint.
