Intriguing protecting fetish, GALOA, D.R. Congo. approx. 1960
Powerful, intriguing protecting fetish of the Congolese GALOA tribe. The base of the statue is made of wood. Short arms are pointing downwards, with ratan, that was turned over its torso, and clay. The head is piercing in its appearance. On top of the head starts a long tail of real hair. A crusty patina is visible on the whole statue. With some traces of use and aging, this remarkable statue is in good condition. The statue is neatly mounted on a stand.
