Masks of the LWALWA tribe, living partly in Angola and partly in D.R. congo, are definitely famous. They have always been powerful in execution, with a nearly geometric appearance. The nose is protruding and triangular, the eyes rectangular, as is bulging mouth. The forehead is always somewhat hanging over the face, and it has distinct geometric lines. This mask still has a hairdo. The masks have various applications, among others at hunting rituals and at initiation rituals. This mask is, with slight traces of use and ageing, in good condition.
