Tribally used "butter pot", TURKANA tribe, Kenya, approx. 1950
Exquisite, tribally intensively used "butter pot" of the Turkana tribe from Kenya. Inevitable traces of use, such as some bald-ish goatskin, found both on the bottom and the cover of the pot. These kinds of pots were attached to the side of the hip and used during the collection of herbs. The basis is bamboo, painted with black pigments, shaped as dots and a band.
