Ancient tribal TINAGKU BULUL statue with bowl, approx. 100 years old
GREAT! Ancient tribal TINAGKU BULUL statue holding a bowl, approx. 100 years old.
Authentic tribal statues of the Ifugao of such an age are scare and nearly priceless. Via good contacts within the Ifugao community, I have been able to purchase a couple of wonderful pieces from the museum/private collection of Mr Noël Balgena. This is one of them. The museum of Mr Noël Balenga can also be found via Google. This Tinagku Bulul is a seating Bulul with a bowl in its hands. It is an ancient, tribally used sacrificial statue, made of hard and heavy Nara wood and originating from Kalang Nguya in Ifugao territory. For more info about the Ifugao, I refer to the introductory text under the header "Ifugao".
