African face mask from the IBO, Nigeria, ca 1970
OverviewStrikingly Refined African Face Mask of the IBO
Beautiful vintage decorative mask. Clearly stands out above the average and was without doubt carved by a skilled craftsman. Although not tribally used, it is stylistically strong and shows a striking, attractive patina! The mask features 8 copper nails, and in the half-open mouth neatly carved teeth are visible. Several geometric lines run from the nose to the temples. The eyes are almond-shaped but almost closed. The ears are also finely executed.
In short, an appealing mask that will certainly enhance your interior. And as you are used to from Johnspecialobjects; an excellent price/quality ratio!
The mask is in good condition and is offered without a stand. See the photos!
