Older face mask from the LEGA, DR Congo, ca 1960
OverviewThe style of Lega masks is very popular. Not surprising either; mask with minimalist interventions and lots of expression! So is this one. A flat mask with a smooth transition from forehead to chin, sleek straight nose, semi-round slightly raised eyes with a rectangular cutout and a mouth that is little more than a cut with a few slits in it. Remains of kaolin are clearly present. Good condition!
