This authentic handle of a dhyangro has been made around 1900. The dhyangro is a ceremonial shamanic drum that originates from the Himalayas and is a historical instrument of the Jhankri shamans. The dhyangro was used in traditional rituals and healing ceremonies to achieve a trance state through deep, hypnotic rhythms and thus connect with the spiritual world.
The handle, expertly sculpted as a symbolic phurba (ritual dagger), represents a powerful tool for protection. This unique feature testifies to the deep spiritual layers of the instrument.
This collector's item is a tangible link to a disappearing tradition and a beautiful example of Nepalese woodcarving. The handle, complete with a custom-made stand, forms a unique decorative piece for a bohemian or eclectic interior.
